BELLRINGER: We will complete, then discuss, the following bellringer exercise- The "Caring Makes Us Human" Thinking Sheet.

We also complete the "What is Technology?" Quiz.

FOR TODAY:

SIGNED SYLLABI ARE DUE TODAY! 15 POINTS! AIMS APPLICATION PAPERWORK DUE TODAY!

Due to the issues with AutoCAD registration, in groups, we will work on the "What is the hot technology of the day? Project" Presentations for this will begin next week.

BELLRINGER: We have a couple of Bellringer activities for today-

  1. Complete The Concurrent Enrollment Questionnaire.
  2. We log in to the computer network by using:
    1. Username= Firstname.Lastname
    2. Password= MDDYYYY or MMDDYYYY (date must be two numbers)
    3. Temporary login for new students= User= techlab, Pwd= technology
  3. Once we log in, we locate our Student Drive and make a TECHNOLOGY_I FOLDER. You will save all future files and work to this folder for this semester.
  4. We access HIGHLANDTECHNOLOGY.ORG and bookmark it for future use. (Click the star in the upper right corner of the screen, then type CTRL-SHIFT-B to show your bookmarks.)
  5. We review the course Video Tutorials and how to find them.
  6. Then, we watch (with headphones) the Video Tutorial #1- INTRO TO AUTOCAD. As you watch this, complete the "Intro to AutoCAD Thinking Sheet."

PART ONE: We discuss Perspective Drawing and work on the 3D Pencil Drawing of The Block. When you are done, put your name on the drawing and Mr. B. will take a PHOTOGRAPH of your drawing. This will be a graded assignment and will be part of your Technology portfolio for our end of year "Measure of Student Learning."

PART TWO: We review how to open and access AUTOCAD on our systems. We also discuss how AutoCAD ASSIGNMENTS will work in the class for both regular and Concurrent Enrollment students.

PART THREE: AutoCAD LINES: (Make an AutoCAD_1 folder in your TECHNOLOGY_I folder on your network space. Save all of your files there.)

  1. A Quick AutoCAD assignment: Watch Video Tutorial #34 LINES. Use the LINE command to create a 3-D version of your name. Here is a sample of one done by Mr. B. Save this drawing to your AutoCAD_1 folder as "lastname_3-D.dwg."
  2. Our First AutoCAD Project: AutoCAD 1- LINES. Save all of these completed files to your AutoCAD_1 folder.
