Flash
Animation: “Digital Me”- Flash Capstone Project
Overview:
Students will be using ALL of their Flash skills to create a multimedia
presentation
that reveals details about themselves, such as their hopes
and dreams.
The Project:
- OVERVIEW: In the DIGITAL ME project, students
will put together a multimedia presentation that introduces themselves,
then offers the viewer
a total of SEVEN different options, allowing the viewer some insight
into the animator.
- THE INTRODUCTORY SCENE:
- To start, the student must come up with
an introductory scene in which the animator creates visuals
that represent who they
are and their personality.
This scene must be AT LEAST 10 seconds long and contain
the words DIGITAL ME and YOUR NAME!
- At the end of your introductory scene, the
movie will use an F9 Action to STOP and seven different BUTTONS
will appear,
giving
the viewer seven
different options of varying scenes to visit.
- YOUR "Digital Me" SCENES-
Your seven buttons will send the viewer
to seven different scenes, outlined below:
- “MY LIFE”: This scene tells the viewer about
who you are- your age, your gender, your
style, your moods, your outlook on life,
your philosophies, your beliefs,
and so forth.
- “MY FAMILY”: This
scene tells the viewer about
your family and the people (and animals)
that are important to you.
- "MY PASSION”: This
scene tells the viewer
about your passions. What do you LOVE more than
anything else? What would
you get
up at 5:00 in the morning
to do? Come summertime, what are you dying
to start doing again?
- "MY ART”: This scene
tells the viewer about
the things that you create in life that are
artistic. Do you draw,
sing, play an instrument, make glass bead necklaces,
write poetry, beat box,
create cool Flash animations? Describe it!
Show samples, if you
can!
- “MY MUSIC”: This scene
tells the viewer about
the music that you love. Talk genres, talk
artists, talk varieties.
- “MY DREAMS”: This scene tells the viewer about the dreams
that you have for yourself. If you could have any job in the world, what
would it be? Where do you want to be in 10 years? Would your life be
perfect if you got a full-ride football scholarship? Be specific, don’t
just say: “I wanna be rich.”
- “MY FEARS”: This
scene tells the viewer about the
things in your life that you fear.
Are you afraid of never getting
into college?
Spiders? Ending up homeless? Dying
in a car accident? Tell us what you
are really afraid of.
- "Digital Me" Scene Contents: Each
of your scenes should
be AT LEAST
10 seconds
long and ILLUSTRATE,
in an animated
fashion, information
about you.
Use words and phrases
to accent your
scene, but
this IS NOT a
PowerPoint
presentation, no bullet point
lists! I want
to be informed
AND entertained.
- EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY: Extra credit will be extended to students who include music and sound into their animation, in particular, SOUNDS FOR EACH BUTTON or MUSIC FOR EACH SCENE.
- Scene Ending: Each scene
should end
and go back
to the LAST FRAME OF THE INTRODUCTORY
scene,
so that the
viewer can choose another
option (without having to watch your intro scene over and over again!)
- RUN YOUR MOVIE to troubleshoot
and watch
for glitches!
