"Graphic Design: The Logo Portfolio for the 'Northern Plains Public Library'"

THE PROJECT: You have been selected as one of the three students to present your logo to the Ault Public Library for consideration as their new visual representation to their community. To better demonstrate your logo to the Library Board, we will be creating a portfolio that shows your logo in a number of different settings.

Below, find a list of various implimentations that would be appropriate for your portfolio:

  • A single large scale JPEG that shows both the color and a black and white versions of your logo. If you have multiple representations of your logo with different placement of text, include them, as well.
  • A JPEG showing color and black and white versions of your logo on a Library Business Card.
  • A JPEG showing color and black and white versions of your logo on a Library Letterhead.
  • A JPEG showing the color version of your logo Photoshopped into the current Library website homepage.
  • A JPEG showing the color version of your logo on a Library "Book List."
  • A photomanipulation showing your logo on a photograph of the current library sign or building wall. Do your best to make this as photorealistic as possible.
  • A photomanipulation showing your logo on the T-Shirt of a child, preferably in a color photograph.
  • A photomanipulation showing your logo on the side of a book bag, preferably in a color photograph.

For strongest consideration, I highly recommend that you create all of the above items for your portfolio. If you think of any other appropriate uses for the logo that you could demonstrate, include them as well.

CREATION and SUBMISSION OF THE PORTFOLIO: Mr. B. would like your portfolio (A folder called "Lastname_Library_Portfolio") to be ready for presentation on March 12th. Mr. B. will also be discussing with you the oral presentation that would be most appropriate when addressing the Board. Presentation to the board is likely to be at the end of March.

SUBSTITUTION: Students completing this process will be allowed to replace ONE assignment for the weeks of March 1 and March 8 with this project. If the student presents to the Library Board, they will receive a 100/100 on the substituted assignment.
