Visual Communication, The Circle, Square, Triangle Problem

BACKGROUND: This is another in a series of "Visual Communication" exercises. In this one, students are restricted to using only lines, circles, squares and polygons to turn a series of circles, squares and triangles into identifiable pictures and icons.

BEFORE YOU START: Right click and save to download the following picture and then PLACE it into a canvas in YOUIDRAW. Alternately, you could make the following shapes on a blank YOUIDRAW Canvas, whichever is easier for you.:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE EXERCISE: Graphic Designers often use symbolic applications to be communicate ideas. Using the Geometric Shapes in the graphic above as the focal point of each design, create 18 DIFFERENT IDENTIFIABLE images by adding other elements while maintaining the integrity of the original mark. Your solutions should be in BLACK and WHITE only!

PLEASE NOTE that the only other elements that you can add for this project are the following shapes: RECTANGLES and SQUARES, CIRCLES, POLYGONS and LINES. Do NOT use the PEN TOOL, BRUSH TOOL or any CUSTOM SHAPE TOOL.

SAMPLE PROJECT FOR INSPIRATION: Here is a completed sheet that you can use for inspiration. In this case, the designer decided to make all of their figures into animals as a theme. YOU CANNOT USE THESE IMAGES FOR YOUR SOLUTIONS!

ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION: You have until Sunday to complete this activity! Save your
